bay Saturday, July 5 and Sunday, July 6, 2008 The Meaford Creative Arts Association presents ARTFEST...on the bay Saturday, July 5 10:00 am. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 6 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Meaford Harbour. An opportunity to meet artists and artisans from the Meaford and surrounding area showcasing paintings in water colour, acrylics, oil and pastels as well as jewellery, pottery, woodworking, fabric art and much more! Not to be missed, this annual event showcasing high quality work has experienced steady growth throughout the past several years and includes paintings in water colours, acrylics, oil and pastels as well as photography, jewellery, pottery, fabric art, wood working and much more. The Meaford Hospital Auxiliary will again be displaying ceiling tiles painted by members of the Meaford Creative Arts Association. The purpose for these tiles is to both raise money for the Auxiliary while at the same time beautifying various areas of the Hospital. In addition to the broad assemblage of visual art, you will be able to enjoy the musical talents of the Regal Jazz Band, back by popular demand on Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. A silent auction is scheduled between 10:00 to 4:00 on Saturday under the Pavilion. Savor a cool beverage at the Beer and Wine Garden sponsored by the Legion or a frozen treat from Grandma Lamb’s Yogurt Truck. Return on Sunday between 2:00 and 4:00 to take in a fun variety show showcasing local talent. Face painting will also be available for children on both days between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. This is a great weekend to bring the family to the beautiful town of Meaford to participate in the festivities and perhaps discover something you have been searching for…that truly special piece of art! |
