Hospital campaign a success.
The Meaford General Hospital Foundation Capital Campaign has surpassed its goal. Just over three million dollars was raised for the 5 year campaign.Campaign Chair, Bert Chalmers is pleased that the 2.8 million dollar goal was surpassed by almost 10 percent. The money will go towards new equipment for the hospital, including diagnostic equipment such as digital x-ray machines and MRI services. Chalmers says having up-to-date equipment is crucial to helping healthcare professionals provide the best care possible, and also helps attract new physicians to the area. Chalmers adds the community was in full support of the project. President of the Meaford General Hospital Foundation, Steven Schofield says the fundraising was easier than he thought it would be. He says it had seemed like a daunting task, but the campaign has wrapped up three months early.
