Taxes going down in Meaford.

Meaford's Budget has been approved. The Meaford Council approved a budget that will see the residential tax rates drop significantly.The Residential tax rates for the Former town of Meaford will decrease by 9 percent, while the Former townships of St. Vincent and Sydenham will see a 7 percent decrease as well. The spending total will be 7.3 million dollars. Deputy Mayor of Meaford, Robert Reid says this is really significant to Meaford Residents who have been hoping their rates would go down. He says the Municipality will be spending more money, allotted in the budget, but because of assessments those Residential tax rates will go down.
