Construction in Meaford is starting to bloom with the warm weather. The first 6 months of the year had Meaford in a downward position for building permits. The municipality was down 3 million dollars in construction value in the same period over last year. Chief Building Officer, John Acres says in in June there were 22 building permits issued, at a 1.4 million dollar value. However, Acres says July is booming with construction. Nine homes have been built so far, and ten building permits have been issued. Acres says the municipality has not yet seen the end of this building boom.
