Meaford negotiates with Owen Sound for water.

Residents of the Leith water system in Meaford have received a draft letter. The letter states the results of a survey given to new residents along County Road 15 about where they want to get their water. Some want to get their supply from the city of Owen Sound, others want to upgrade the existing water treatment plant. Even though 45 per cent of homeowners were against the idea of getting their water from Owen Sound, CAO Chris Webb says 42 percent - or 136 respondents were in favour of it. He says they are now moving to Phase 3 of the project. The next step is to negotiate with the city of Owen Sound on a price for water supply.
