The lakes on the rise.

After three years of bone-dry conditions, water levels in the Great Lakes are on the rise. Environment Canada says the Great Lakes have risen to more normal levels. That's good news for cottagers and boaters in southern Ontario, who have been dragging their hulls along the bottom of lakes or not leaving harbours at all.And Environment Canada says due to an unusually rainy spring, the water levels should stay as high as they are until at least the end of the summer. Lakes Michigan and Huron have seen particularly low levels since 1998.They are still 35 centimetres lower than average, but have risen 25 centimetres from this time last year.
