They Love Grandma Lambe.

At the second annual community awards dinner in Meaford....Grace Lambe was honored with two awards....Citizen of the Year and Business of the Year. Lambe is on vacation so her son Dave accepted the awards on her behalf. He says she will be humbled by the experience. He adds receiving the business award is a combination of his mother's work ethic and the staff she trains. Besides running a successful business, Lambe volunteers for the Georgian Bay Festival, the restoration of the town hall project, and for the church. Chamber of Commerce President.....Tony Houghton feels the awards can boost morale among local businesses by giving them something to work for. The Business of the Year award goes to an outstanding owner who has displayed leadership in their occupation and outstanding employee relations, marketing, promotions, and contribution to the community. Other award winners included Friends of the Leith Church for Volunteer Organization of the Year, Bardeau's Emporium for Best Customer Service, Irish Mountain Bed and Breakfast took home Accommodation of the Year, and Angel's Antiques received the Most Improved Business Premises Award.
