| The Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal |
| The Commemorative Medal for Her
Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee was created to mark the 50th
anniversary of the accession of Her Majesty to the Throne on February 6th,
1952.
It is awarded to those persons who have made a significant contribution to Canada, to their community or to their fellow Canadians. On Sunday, November 24, 2002 Meaford residents Jim Blyth, Don Bumstead, Ross Kentner and David Platt were presented with their medals by Ovid Jackson, MP & Bill Murdoch, MPP Grey-Bruce-Owen Sound. The recipients of the Queen's Jubilee Medal have shown leadership and heart as citizens of Canada. They are examples of the hard work, sacrifice and dedication that helped to build and will continue to strengthen our Canada. The recipients of this Medal are an inspiration to all of us. |
