Christ Church Anglican
The Memorial Windows
From
July 18 to August 9, 1987, the Rector of Christ Church, The Reverend E.J.
Insley and his wife Janet travelled through the southern part of England
to research the Memorial Windows.
Through the availability of a Continuing Education Grant from the National
Church, the Rector was able to discover and catalogue glass to form the
windows. Many people made invaluable contributions to the project and should
be recognized. The congregation of Christ Church made a financial contribution
from the Outreach Fund to provide the pictorial brochure which the Rector
left with the churches in England. Mr. Harry Whitton provided the photography.
Archdeacon Ted Light provided clergy addresses from Crockford's Clergy
Directory. Mrs. Merle Cooper did the typing and assisted the Rector in
compiling the material and pictures for the memorial album. A word of appreciation
is expressed to all of the contributors.
It is hoped that the research gathered will complete the history of the
windows and provide a lasting memorial to the memory of those who died
during the conflict and more particularily to the late Right Reverend Harold
Appleyard, Suffragan Bishop of Huron, a man of compassion, wisdom and courage.
